These are Miliana's images sent to Sarah. She has her daugher helping her with this project which will make it all the more fun for both of them.

Dana's images sent to Miliana. Super fun bright colors and graphics, love the retro sign theme (or that's what I am assuming it is).

Sarah's images sent to Marley. I'm not sure the theme exactly but what beautiful use of color and texture in these enhanced old textile shots.

First round~Sent

Here is the selection of photo's sent by Marley to Val. Marley selected the theme "Silhouettes" for her work. I love how she broke each image up and played with the colors of the backgrounds. These will be fun to work on.

beginnings

I've given this project some thought over the last few months and without too much input from you but with the background success/failures from the last two collaborative projects I've organized I'm going to "pitch" the project.

I would like each participant to come up with a "theme", "idea" or "subject" they would like to work with. Think about things that can either be visually represented in a literal way or something that can have a less visual but more interpretive meaning to explore through visual means.

The first part of this project is one you will do on your own. Once you have your subject I'd like for you to go and photograph 8 images that represent this idea to you. Please print these images on 4x6 media of any sort you like, you can print them on photo paper, some other sort of paper, you can print them and transfer them to fabric whatever you like. If you are totally opposed to (or don't have the means to) Photographing your own subject matter you may also collect images from Magazines, books etc (you could do photo transfer of these images as well). Also think about using color vs. black & white, sepia or color "altered" images. The finished pieces of art are for your own use and will not be published so using images that are someone else copy write should not be an issue here. There may be little left of the original image to see in the finished pieces anyways. Please also write a couple paragraphs to explain your subject or idea to share with the others in the group.

Then the collaborative process will begin. We will have at least 3-4 rotations of these images for others to "work" on. Depending on how many people we end up with we will work on each "round" for a duration of about 2 weeks. I'd like to begin shipping this project at the beginning of June so that gives us approximately one month to think about our ideas, gather images and prepare to ship.

Please let me know if you are in or out.

Happy Art making!
